Styled Shoot with Wood Photography

I think my absolute favorite part of my job is being able to be free and creative with my style. This usually only happens when I'm not being paid to do makeup. I love being able to work with other professionals and trade work. It's nice to be able to have no limitations on your vision for something. The shoot I worked on today was a collaboration between myself, Olivia Mertz or Wood Photography & Hair by Kristen Davenport. Olivia wanted a styled shoot with an earthy, bohemian feel to it. I think the floral crown is lovely and adds so much to the photo. I chose to do a deep lip, which ended up being so beautiful and added to the etherial feel to these photos. Such a pleasure to work with such lovely people... especially when it's more about the art then the job.

DIY

Sometimes life just throws you opportunities that allow you to meet new people and reassures you that you are doing what you love. Today was one of those days. I worked with a company that I have been really excited about starting a business relationship with. Red Arrow is a production company that produces, shoots and edits for a lot of big name companies and brands, so I was excited when they hired me to do the makeup for a DIY Download for a collaboration between DIY Network and Wayfair Furniture. I loved working with the talent and the crew, it was a very laid back day, watching the talent learn to build a bench made out of old pallet wood and setting up for a DIY Christmas Party, but I enjoyed every touch up. So Thankful to be doing what I love.
